Treetools alluded to ART Spiderjack 2.1 developments back in January and the new gear has finally arrived in store.
The complete Spiderjack 2.1 Dyneema model is available along with the replacement 'Dyneema Kit and the extended Roll Lever. Both 'improvements' can the retro-fitted to existing Spiderjack models 1, 2 and 2.1.
The Dyneema Kit is designed for two-carabiner connection, not unlike the Hitch Climber set-up, which helps facilitate transitions, where your climbing line is disconnected and then re-connected eg to get around or over a branch or stem. The DMM Ultra O carabiner works well in this configuration.
The original single carabiner connection model proved to be a bit fiddly for some climbers during changeover and the Velcro connector had a tendency to keep slipping off the connecting bolt.
Both upgrades are easily installed with the tools provided with each kit.
The extended Roll Lever can be employed without the need of the full Dyneema Kit and is designed to assist with rope tail management.
These new upgrades where inpired by Australian tree climbing champion Joe Harris, Mr Spiderjackery.
