Addendum: there is SRT and then there's SRT!

The term SRT (Single Rope Technique) can be confusing in itself.

There are two concurrent uses of the term:

1) SRT (ascent) - the use of a single line to access a tree. An example is the 'tree frog' system but there are multiple variations of this technique for access. Typically the climber accesses the tree then sets a traditional DbRT system.

2) SRT (work positioning) - The climbers accesses the tree using SRT (access) and proceeds to work directly off the same line. ie no use of DbRT. Examples of SRT (climbing) would include the Unicender and the Rope Wrench.
