Yes, it's a recall, and the timing could not have been worse, just before the 2022 Christmas holiday break, but the problem is relatively easy to remedy, and we'll get it sorted in the New Year.
To recap, the button assembly on a limited number of 1.1" Omni Swivel Pulleys and associated variants, locked by a grub screw, may not be secure. As a result, if the button comes out, the side plate can open, allowing the rope to fall out - visit Rock Exotica for more detail.
Several Omni 1.1 pulleys manufactured from February 2020 through October 2022 may not have had adequate thread locker or sealant on the grub screw, potentially allowing it to back out and release the side plate button.
Rock Exotica is also issuing an inspection notice for all Omni Block style pulleys made from 2018 through October 2022.
New Zealand owners of the recalled Rock Exotica Omni 1.1 pulleys should follow this link to register their pulleys. Once registered, Treetools will email a CourierPost ticket so you can get your Omni 1.1 returned at no cost, and we should have the repaired pulley back in your hands within seven working days.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will follow up with additional social media posts updating Rock Exotica's ongoing response when and if they become available.
Thank you for your understanding and patience!
