Reigning Auckland TCC champ Jawand Ngau Chun dropped into the store the other day and during our discussion he told us the Waikato/BoP Regional TCC has never been won by an out-of-towner! (to his knowledge)…and you can understand why: the Waikato/BoP regional has generated a fantastic number of world renowned climbers.
This weekend will be the tester for 2010. The Waikato/BoP Regional TCC will be held at the Hamilton Lake Domain on Saturday 11 September. See the NZAA website for more details and flyer download.We do not have the exact location in the domain yet but rumor has it the event trees will be in mainly Eucalyts, rather than Oaks as everyone expected. Treetools will publish the location (for directions) as soon as it comes to hand.
Weather, at this early stage, is likely to be mixed, with rain and wind developing - hopefully the weather man has got it wrong this time!
If you get the chance, spend some time with the international climbers who are planning to attend - all have some association with the Waikato region!
