Treetools first blogged about the Edelrid Roka-e back in the December 2009. At that time, the launch date was set as mid 2010. This was later updated to August 2010 and now we have been advised not to expect delivery until December 2010.
The Edelrid Roka-e cambium saver has integrated 'rollers' in the alloy eye at each end instead of the standard large and small rings. Most tree climbers are familiar with the 'roller' concept through the use of the DMM Revolver. The rollers reduce friction as well as being rope friendly making the Roka-e a hybrid - a cross between a ring-based system and a pulley-based system.Judging by interest so far, the Edelrid Roka-e should be a good seller - when we finally get our hands on them!
