Treetools had a climbing customer in the other day and discussion turned to kN (kilo-Newtons), fall factors and the shock force experienced by a climber in the event of a fall. I was certain I had seen a shock force calculator on the web but try as I might I could not find it on the day.
It turns out the calculator was designed for rock climbing but a fall is a fall, shock force is shock force and kNs are kNs. Do your own calculation here if you want to find out the fall factor and shock force in kN you will experience in a hypothetical fall (and its best to keep your falls hypothetical).
