The rumors are true! New Zealand will host an 'official' world footlock attempt at the Asia-Pacific TCCscheduled for Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Western Park, Freeman's Bay Auckland. We are not sure who the 'official' is at this point but we'll keep you posted. Thanks to Nicky Ward-Allen, current foot lock women's world record holder and well known NZ tree climber for making this event happen.
Marlies Laser, NZ National TCC coordinator has puttogether a fantastic programme making this the most important day in the 2010 Tree Climber's Calendar! And, all of this activity follows on from the 2010Auckland Regional TCC held the day before (Saturday 20 March) at the same venue, Western Park, Freeman's Bay, Auckland. Also of great interest will be the "Efficiency through Safety" briefing by Thane Young from the Dept of Labour and the associated climbing demonstrationby Rossy Ross (Pro Climb) and Drew Bristow (DB Tree).
Thanks to Marlies Laser for this update - Treetools will to add more information over the next few days - this is an excellent opportunity for New Zealandtree climbing - make sure you set the weekend of March 20-21 aside now - book your flights and accommodation - this is the biggest tree climbing weekendNew Zealand is likely to see in a while!
