Adopted kiwi climber, Matt Glen has ruffled a few feathers with his famous MATT SAYS NO comments (Kong Duck and Bad Practice) but this time his own skills, along with those of Australian Grant Cody, are on display.
The video above, produced by Matt Glen, shows Grant's Melbourne-based company Tree Spec, dismantling a problematic back-leaning, 25 meter plus stringy bark eucalyptus situated tightly between two buildings. The tree has a rather impressive split running the length of the main stem just to make things more complicated.
Note the use of a few 'good practices': the strapping of the tree for added security, excellent communication, smooth lowering, wing cuts, two climbers on site capable of rescue and… both hands on the saw!
We are pretty sure the orange bag Grant uses to hold the ratchet straps is a promotional bag produced by Treetools back in 2009 (must have been a good quality bag to last that long!)
