Advancing your climbing line to a higher position while in the tree can radically increase your range of mobility particularly when moving out on long lateral limbs. Climbers use various techniques to advance their line but the humble throwline is probably one of the most versatile.
As well as advancing your anchor to a higher point, setting up a double crotch or a sending a line to another tree the throwline can be sent ground ward to retrieve tools and equipment.
Only problem is: HOW DO YOU CARRY THROWLINE IN A TREE?Yates HIP-IT - that's how! The HIP-IT has a couple of Velco straps to attach to your harness. A unique feature is that it can easily be opened andclosed with one hand making it perfect for tree climbing.
