Joe Cooper from the Northland Tree Climbers Association has advised Treetools the 2012 NTCA Tree Climbers Gathering will be held on the weekend of 17-18 March in Northland.
The inaugural 2011 NTCA event at the Alderton Farm in Pakaraka set the bar very high but we are told next years gathering will be even bigger and better.
The NTCA arborcamp is family affair built around knowledge sharing, workshops and fun. The tree climbing 'competition' at the last gathering had all competitors climbing on a three-strand prussic - a novelty for some of the modern climbers but everyday work for others.
Details are still sketchy for 2012 but make sure you set aside the weekend of 17-18 March for a great tree climbing experience to start off the 2012 tree climbing year. March is usually time for the Auckland Regional TCC so this would be a good time to get in some practice.
