Have a look at the short Cornell University video below and ask yourself why this could not happen in New Zealand?
Here is an opportunity for a kiwi tree climbing entrepreneur to offer a recreational tree climbing adventure to locals and tourists alike.
Treetools regularly takes requests for a tree climbing experience from members of the public. The closest they can get in Auckland is Tree Adventures based in the pines at Woodhill.
While exciting for some, Tree Adventures is more of a Disney-style experience where all the climbs are pre-set - Treetools is not decrying this formula because we hear good reports from customers but this is not the same as climbing a tree using arborist techniques.
Surely there are enough trees around Auckland (and other city centers) to get something like this off the ground - excuse the pun.
