The long awaited, Treemagineers designed CELanyard is finally available in New Zealand. The joint manufacturers of the CELanyard, DMM and Teufelberger, have struggled to keep up with worldwide demand since its initial launch earlier in the year.
This new lanyard incorporates plenty of technology from both DMM and Teufelberger: the Pinto pulley, the Ultra O, the Shadow, the load-equalizing OV Thimble,Ocean Vectran 6mm cord, Ocean Polyester 8mm friction hitch and Sirius 11mm all with proprietary Teufelberger stitching. All items are colour coded 'green'to indicate use as a PPE product.
The CELanyard can be employed as an anchor point as well as being used in a traditional lanyard setup (around a stem or branch). As such, it meets twoappropriate EN standards; EN795B (for anchor devices) and EN358 (for adjustable lanyards).
Climbers are reminded that the CELanyard is a work positioning tool and is not designed for fall arrest applications. Equipment certified to EN795B mustbe capable of withstanding a minimum force of 10kN and any potential 'fall' must not exceed 500mm.
The CELanyard is packaged with an informative instruction booklet outlining the various 'modes' in which the lanyard can be configured.
Treetools will have the 3m and 4m CELanyards available for sale in the store by the end of the week. Prices are not yet confirmed.
