Three of the six qualifying 2012 Asia-Pacific Regional TCC climbers work for Treescape: Jawand Nga Chun, David Stejskal and Zane Wedding. Treescape invests heavily in their tree climbers and the results speak for themselves.
The remaining qualifiers are Nina Black from Christchurch-based TreeTech and independent tree climbing contractors Scott Forrest and James Kilpatrick. Scott is current world tree climbing champion and James holds the mens world footlock record.
The five men climbers are seasoned TCC competitors and Nina is a newbie to the international scene.
The 2012 Asia-Pacific Regional TCC has been hampered by internal politics and claims of favoritism since the 2011 plan to hold the event in Hong Kong. The competition will now be held in St Davids Park, Hobart, Tasmania over the weekend of 27-29 April as an adjunct to the 2012 Australian National TCC.
Treetools is fairly certain James Kilpatrick will have his eye on three Asia-Pacific Regional TCC titles back-to-back but, tree climbing being tree climbing, outcomes are very hard to predict.
The newly established Legends Foundation, founded by world champion Scott Forrest, is contributing towards the kiwi team accommodation costs while they are in Hobart and Treetools is supporting regular customers with equipment.
