It's only been 24 hours since we posted the Portable Winch blog and already people are asking about alternatives!
Malcolm Shaw from Norton Tree Services swears by the all American Lug-All (Malcolm does a lot of tree bracing work so he knows a good hand winch when he sees one).
The Lug-All comes in various size and weight configurations - Treetools will stock the smaller 1500-15 and 2250-20 models as well as the 1.5 ton 3000-30 and the 2 ton 4000-20. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
There are plenty of cheap knock-offs of these come-a-long style winches but the models Treetools sell are the genuine article - heavy duty cables and hooks contained in a lightweight cast aluminum alloy frame, made in the good 'ol US of A.
